Is there any overlap in content between Sage Campus and Sage Research Methods?

Fewer than 10 Sage Research Methods videos have been used in Sage Campus, and only during the initial creation of courses. Since then, and as new courses are added to the Campus catalog, the decision was made by Campus Editorial and a new policy created to no longer incorporate Sage Research Methods video content in Campus.

There is also a handful of Campus videos, on the topic of programming, that have been used in the Sage Research Methods collection on data science. We are now capping this level of re-use across products. For customers who already have SRMV Data Science, it is worth being aware of this crossover.

What about books?

Some of our courses are based on existing Sage books, but the material is significantly re-worked, added to, edited and re-shaped.

These courses are:

  • Introduction to Text Mining (uses 10% of the content from the book of the same name
  • Collecting Social Media Data (uses 2-5% of the content, which is then adapted, from Handbook of Social Media Research)
  • Research Proposal
  • Present Your Research
  • Gather Your Data Online
  • Conduct a Literature Review
  • Do Your Interviews (uses 2 videos from SRMV)
  • Statistical Significance
  • Unlocking Statistics
  • Analyze Qualitative Data
  • See numbers in Data
  • Plan Your Project
  • Know Your Numbers

For each of these courses, the SME has written book/s for Sage and used some of that source material as the basis for the course curriculum.

All course materials are re-worked, re-shaped, edited and added to, so they are original courses.
